I am a Calgary photographer passionate about capturing images that have meaning for me and for my clients. My clients have included my local community association, The Little Brown Jug Brass band, Green Fools Theatre Society, and families. As seen in my portfolio pages I have eclectic personal interests, including people, landscapes, macro, nature, and anything else that catches my eye.
My images of nature are as found, at most removing grass or holding a branch out of the way of my shot. The people in my photos are real people, with real faces, doing real things, typically shot in available light. They are not edited into plastic air-brushed perfection. Some are posed photographs intended to be portraits, some I've asked them to do something again so I can get the shot, but most are in the moment and then it's gone.
I shoot Canon digital cameras and high quality lenses. My editing is done in Lightroom, aiming to render the scene as I saw it but with a tiny bit of pop for artistry. My film photography is typically done on a Fujica GW690 medium format camera.
